Patsy Mink

Patsy Mink is remembered for her dedication to expanding opportunities for women and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and other communities of color.

In 1962, Mink became the first Hawaiian woman, first woman of color, and first Japanese American woman elected to Congress. She served a total of 12 terms (24 years) representing Hawaii.

Everyone should be able to decide if, when, how, and with whom they start or grow a family.
