Peter Navarro is the top White House trade policy advisor (and apparent Microsoft Paint amature) who released a graph alleging that weak manufacturing actually leads to increased divorce, infertility, domestic violence, and of course, abortions. Seriously.
Peter Navarro, Director of the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing policy, created the graph without any data, information, or graphic design talent to back it up. At this point, they aren’t even trying to be creative with their attacks on women’s rights.
Of course, Trump loves Navarro, and has even called him a “visionary economist” though top economists agree that his views are uninformed, radical, and mathematically impossible. It’s no surprise Navarro joined his anti-choice bros in that infamous picture to smile behind Trump as he reinstates the Global Gag Rule and takes away the reproductive rights of millions of women.
This guy seems like a real class act, and it’s no surprise that he fits right in with Donald Trump. During his unsuccessful run to be Mayor of San Diego, Navarro called his opponent’s press secretary a pig, compared her to a dog, and shoved her. Where have we heard that before?
Oh right. Donald Trump has repeatedly come under fire for calling women “fat pigs”, “dogs”, and “disgusting animals.” And remember that time when Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski forcibly grabbed a female reporter by the arm on the campaign trail last year? Sounds like Navarro fits right in.
Navarro’s record is a whole trough of sexist, crazy things about women. He once made fun of his female primary opponent, who he describes as an “attractive and well-spoken woman”, by saying, “the irony of this submissive wife running on a feminist platform was, of course, lost on everyone in the room.” Peter Navarro, raging misogynist and self-proclaimed expert on who can be a feminist. What a bunch of sexist slop.
It’s no surprise that he also attacked a fellow local political figure by making fun of his wife, saying, “if I had to guess her previous occupation I would pick bikini model or Bay Watch extra.” Sound like anyone else you know (maybe, our President’s feud with Ted Cruz…?)
It’s clear that Navarro has no respect for women, and their right to make decisions about their own lives, bodies, and futures. That’s why we’re giving him our latest Dirty, Rotten, Sexist Scoundrel award—but it sounds like he could use a snout and hooves too.
