Since joining the Georgia House in 2007, Stacey Abrams has led the fight for reproductive justice and has been recognized by local and national organizations for her leadership in support of women's health care access. In 2012, Rep. Abrams fought against a bill that sought to ban abortions after 20 weeks, and in 2016, when Republicans introduced a bill that limited insurance coverage for women seeking abortions, Abrams fought to keep the bill from coming to a vote in the House. She also successfully stopped additional anti-choice legislation. As governor, Stacey Abrams will be an unwavering supporter of women's right to make their own health care decisions, and will protect the full range of reproductive health care services.
