The horrific murders targeting Asian American women earlier this month in Georgia are entrenched in a system of white supremacy and racialized misogyny that has been allowed to flourish in this country. That’s why NARAL joined our allies at the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) to call on President Biden to invest in Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. Together we will push for President Biden’s budget to be a reflection of his promises to address anti-Asian hate and protect reproductive freedom.

Last month we drove 1,458 messages to help strike racist abortion coverage bans like the Hyde Amendment from the president’s budget. This month we are asking you to also help ensure that the budget does not include the Weldon Amendment, which emboldens healthcare entities to deny access to abortion care.
It’s time for a budget that protects and expands reproductive freedom. Call on President Biden to ensure there are no restrictions on reproductive freedom in his upcoming budget!

UC Healthcare
The University of California — the 4th largest healthcare provider in California — has entered contracts that prohibit UC practitioners and students from providing reproductive and LGBTQ-inclusive healthcare. NARAL is working to change that.
NARAL members in Nevada are advocating to expand access to contraception. One bill would require emergency rooms to provide survivors of sexual assault with emergency contraception (also known as the morning after pill), which prevents pregnancy. The other bill would allow pharmacists to dispense contraception to individuals without a prescription.
NARAL is committed to supporting our coalition partners and champions for reproductive freedom in the state legislature as they fight against an onslaught of attacks on Georgians’ right to vote.
Arizona
As harmful anti-choice bills continue to advance through the Arizona legislature, please join our effort to let legislators know #HANDSOFFAZ. We’ve led efforts along with coalition partners like the ACLU and Planned Parenthood to combat them.

Already this year, states have introduced or advanced over 225 restrictions on reproductive freedom and hundreds of laws targeting voting access.
