Ebony Murphy-Root, a teacher, writer, and activist based in Long Beach, California, is a longtime reproductive freedom advocate who has been involved with NARAL for years in Connecticut and California.
She began her work with NARAL Pro-Choice California in 2020, advocating in the State Legislature for paid family leave and expanding access to midwifery care. She also joined the Board of NARAL Pro-Choice California PrivacyPAC, where she helps lead the charge to elect diverse fighters for reproductive freedom.
In the past year, Ebony has joined NARAL in countless electoral actions to help build political power in Southern California by making connections between NARAL and local organizations.
