Representative Cori Bush

Rep. Cori Bush (MO-01) is the first Black woman to be elected to the U.S. Congress from Missouri. She is a registered nurse, pastor, and activist. Since the 2014 murder of Michael Brown in Ferguson, she has tirelessly fought to end police violence and led demands for justice across Missouri and the nation. As a single mother, Rep. Bush knows what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck, and to be burdened with student and medical debt. That experience was part of her congressional platform and why she fights for a vision of the United States that works for every body.

Her congressional campaign focused on pursuing economic justice; protecting our communities from targeted discrimination; and investing in social safety nets through Medicare For All, the Green New Deal, and Housing For All.

Everyone should be able to decide if, when, how, and with whom they start or grow a family.
