My mother had me when she was fifteen years old. And she was eighteen when she had my sister. My mother’s divorce came two years after my sister was born, and she was left to raise us alone. I understand and empathize with the struggle of hard working single mothers in America, because I was raised by one. The last thing single mothers should worry about is politicians messing with their health decision or cutting their access to affordable care, including reproductive health care and abortion. We need to make sure women have every opportunity to make their own choices and determine their own futures.
